I remember before we had smart phones and used our laptops, I felt disconnected from my spouse. I didn't feel like made time for me. We learned to set boundaries for each other and ourselves. The real challenge we face is disciplining our teen to create boundaries for himself, and practice those boundaries ourselves. It's an ongoing problem in family communications.
I've found 8/10 people in business will silence their phones and put them away during our meetings. Those 2 who get eye-balled by the others when they pick up their phone during a meeting, but don't seem to care because they continue to do it.
I guess that's what some people are missing. When you ignore your communication device and give your attention to the other/s, you are showing them that you value them and the time you have together.
This was a great topic for the times!
